How a journalist can use Twitter

Here is another good example of a journalist using Twitter as a bridge between story and community.

Sometimes it really is that simple. But it wont happen if conversation is not an integrated part of your thinking and work routine.

I followed this as it happens and Jo Geary is one of the best local journalist twitter's I know off.

As you say, this wouldn't have been possible if Jo hadn't spend 100's of hours simply speaking to people.

You need an understanding of how social media works in order to appreciate the time you need to put into it before you will see the desired results.
